Why the Department of Geosciences?
A Degree in Geosciences will equip you for many exciting challenges in life, whether it is employment in a hot industry, solving the nation’s problems as a scientist in a national agency, or pursuing graduate study. Our students graduate with useful skills and sharpened minds prepared to tackle important problems in society. Many of our students engage in interesting and useful internships with businesses and government agencies around metro Atlanta, and many of them obtain employment quickly upon graduation, sometimes even before graduating!
We offer both Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees. We also offer the Undergraduate Certificates in Geographic Information, Water Sciences, and Sustainability. These certificates can equip you for GIS, or Sustainability and Environmental work in several fields. How to Apply
If you are want to apply to the undergraduate program, your first stop will be the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Nobody likes to wait, but unfortunately this is your next step. You will eventually be notified regarding your acceptance, but you can always check your application’s status online.
One of the first things you should do once your accepted is sign up for the university’s new student orientation program, INCEPT. While you’re at INCEPT, make that you connect with your advisor to discuss your career goals and major.
