What is Geosciences?
Here at GSU we dovetail the Geosciences into one holistic program. It is the study of the geology and geochemistry of the natural world; and the study of physical and human geography, and the challenges and solutions embedded in both rural communities and urban areas. The study of geosciences may seem broad, but it simply seeks to understand the natural world on a microscopic and macroscopic level.
Scientific training in geosciences at Georgia State supplies the tools for employment or further study in environmental and the energy industry, to name a few. And students at Georgia State can choose between geology, environmental geosciences, geography, or urban studies concentrations.
The Geosciences Program is for students looking for broad experiences to enable a career addressing many problems in the physical and human worlds, as well as human-environment interactions.
