Amber Boll, MS in Geosciences (Geography Concentration) Awarded National Geographic Internship

Amber Boll, on of our first year MS in Geosciences students working with Dr. Tim Hawthorne, has been selected to receive a prestigious national internship with the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC this coming summer. Amber was selected from a competitive pool of over 160 applicants nationwide. As part of her duties for this summer, Amber will be the intern for the NGS Fieldscope Program, which has a strong community geography component. She will assist with conducting outreach and education initiatives in the Chesapeake Bay area: specific duties will include improving outreach and education materials, website management, and writing. GIS skills will be used for working with the developer on improving and expanding FieldScope as well as assisting in conducting workshops (in-person and web-based) on how to use the web-based GIS tool. Geosciences is Going Places!!!!
